Point Linked Entity

Summary

  • Constrain objects created through generic modeling features to a Constraint (Array) Point.

How to Run

[Curve Library Mode]

  • Ribbon Menu > [Curve Library] Tab > [Expression Entity] Group > Point Linked

[Assembly Unit Mode]

  • Ribbon Menu > [Assembly Unit] Tab > [Expression Entity] Group > Point Linked

Explanation

Create Point Linked Entities

Constrain modelled objects to existing Constraint Points and convert them to Point Linked Entities.

  • [Select Target]
Select objects to define as Point Linked Entities.

  • [Constraint Point]
Select Constraint (Array) Point to constrain objects.

  • [Alignment]
Sets the calculation method for the location of the Point Linked Entity when the library is assigned to the layout.

  • Follow Horizontal Path Axis : Sets the calculation method for the location of the object, constrained to a Constraint Point, when the library is assigned to the layout. Sets the calculation method for the position in the horizontal direction for the Horizontal option.

  • Follow Vertical Path Axis : Sets the calculation method for the location of the object, constrained to a Constraint Point, when the library is assigned to the layout. Sets the calculation method for the position in the vertical direction for the Vertical option.

For the example above where we set the Follow Vertical Path Axis option on or off after constraining an object that is at a distance from the constraint Point,

If we set the Follow Vertical Path Axis option On, the position of the Point Linked Entity is set in the Vertical / Horizontal direction using the position of the Constraint Point, as shown in the layout below, as a reference.

If we set the Follow Vertical Path Axis option Off, the position of the Point Linked Entity is set in the Vertical / Horizontal direction using the start point of the layout, as shown in the layout below, as a reference.
