Constraint Point

Summary

  • Creates a Constraint Point at any location in the Constraint Path.

  • The Constraint Point is constrained to the Constraint Path selected during creation.

Point Method

This is a method to place a new Constraint Point by entering the distance to the placement location.

  • [Method]
    Select a Point.

  • [Constraint Path]
Select the Constraint Path to which the user wants to constrain the Constraint Point.

    • Select the type of Constraint Path.

      • Default Constraint Path : Constrain the Constraint Point to the automatically generated Default Constraint Path when the library is created.

      • Main Constraint Path : Constrain the Constraint Point to the added Main Constraint Path after creating the library.

      • Rigid Constraint Path : Constrain the Constraint Point to the added Rigid Constraint Path after creating the library.

    • Once the Main Constraint Path or the Rigid Constraint Path is selected, click the Select button to select the Constraint Path to constrain the Constriant Point.

  • [Location]
Enter the position where to place the Constraint Point inside the Constraint Path.

After clicking on the coordinate input button and then a specific location on Default Constraint Path on the screen, the value is input automatically.

  • [Alignment]
Sets the position calculation method for the Constraint Point based on the changes in the Default Constraint Path length.

Sets the method of recalling the position of the created Constraint Ploint.

Along the 10m Default Constraint Path shown above, a point offset by 3m from the left is set as the location for the Constraint Point. This can be compared with position of the constraint plane offset by 6m along a 20m default constraint path.

  • By Ratio (Default) : Recalls the position of the Constraint Point by ratio of the total length.

Since the ratio between the distance to the constraint plane and the total length is set at 30%, the plane is positioned at 6m from the start point.

  • By Distance - Start Point : Recalls the position of the Constraint Point by distance from the start point.

Since the distance from the start point is set at 3m, the constraint plane is positioned at 3m from the start point.

  • By Distance - End Point : Recalls the position of the Constraint Point by distance from the end point.

Since the distance from the end point is set at 7m, the constraint plane is positioned at 7m from the end point.

  • By Distance - User Defined : : Recalls the position of the Constraint Point by distance from the point defined by the user.

Once the user defined value is set to 0.5, a light blue node appear virtually, and remembers the position of the Constraint Point by distance to this light blue node. In this case, since the position 2m from the user defined point is rememebered, the constraint plane will be placed 2m from the user defined point.

Offset Method

This is a method of copying and creating a Constraint Point by entering the separation distance from a previously created Constraint Point.

  • [Method]
    Select the Offset Method.

  • [Select Constraint Point]
Click the Select button and select the Constraint Point to copy by entering the offset distance.

  • [Offset Distance]
Enter the offset distance at which to place the copied Constraint Point.
