Summary


  • The dimension creation function applicable to 3D isometric drawings allows you to input dimensions into 3D projected sections created from CIM.
    2.5D dimensions can only be applied to sections created with the 3D View function in CIM.

How to Create Aligned 2.5D Dimension in a 3D View Section Using CIM

This manual outlines the process for creating aligned 2.5D dimensions in a 3D view section within CIM.
The aligned 2.5D dimension is a unique dimension creation function in CAD ID. It combines the aligned dimension creation function, which connects two arbitrary points like a general aligned dimension, with the tilt direction of the structure.

    • At the bottom left of the 3D view section, the 3-axis coordinate system is displayed at the viewed angle for creating the 3D section.
      This GUI is used to measure with reference to the axial Delta direction of the current member.

    • The position of the 3-axis coordinate system can be adjusted by dragging it on the work screen.

    Application Criteria for Linear 2.5D Dimensions and Aligned 2.5D Dimensions

    • Creates separate linear and aligned dimensions based on where the dimensions are placed based on the 3-axis coordinate system of the 3D view section.

    • Dimensions in the Delta-Z direction, which are the X and Y planes in the CAD work screen, are created as linear 2.5D dimension.
      The direction of dimensions to be created in the structure is based on the 3-axis coordinate system, and the dimensions in the Delta-X and Y directions are created as aligned 2.5D dimension.

    Run the Aligned 2.5D Dimension function from the tree menu or use the command ALIGNED2.5DDIMENSION (AD2) in the Command window.

    • Specify the distance criteria for display [Distance(D)/Delta-X(X)/Delta-Y(Y)/Delta-Z(Z)/ <D> : X
      Specify first extension line origin :
      Specify second extension line origin :
      Aligned 2.5D dimensions create dimensions that represent the width and length in the X or Y direction.
      When you enter the X or Y value, the text for specifying the first dimension auxiliary point appears and specifies the location point for creating the first dimension.
      Next, specify the next point to represent the dimension.

      • Distance : Expresses the 3D straight-line distance between two points on the object.

      • Delta-X : Expresses the change in X-axis value between two points on the object.

      • Delta-Y : Expresses the change in Y-axis value between two points on the object.

      • Delta-Z : Expresses the change in Z-axis value between two points on the object.

    • Specify dimension line location :
      Specifies where the dimension will be created.
      The mouse can be pointed in the direction to indicate the dimension,
      or the length value can be entered directly in the Command window.

    • Input slope angle (Press Enter key to skip) :
      Specify second point :
      This process adjusts the location of dimension creation to match the slope of the structure.
      (Press Enter if no slope condition is needed.)
      Set the tilt based on the Snap Point of the object.

    • Specify dimension line location :
      If dimensions need to be created continuously, specify the location of the next dimension,
      or press the Esc button when dimension creation is complete.

① Run the Aligned 2.5D dimension function.

Set the distance value standard for display.

Specify the first dimension auxiliary point.

Specify the second dimension auxiliary point.

Enter the tilt angle.
