Explanation


Import IFC model

Imports IFC file (*.ifc).

 

  • [File Explorer]
    This function converts files from IFC format (* .ifc) into 3D CAD models of midas CIM.

    When the function is selected, the file explorer will be launched to select IFC file with the *.ifc extension format.
    The path and name of the IFC file to import is displayed.

    Button to change to a different *.ifc file.

  • [Option]

    • Merge Tessellated Edge :

      • Merges tessellated edges during the creation of the IFC file.

      • Import as a faceted solid or faceted sheet object.

    • Attempt Editable Object Conversion :

      • This option converts the poly mesh shape to an editable Solid object as much as possible

      • Fails to load as a faceted object, succeeds to load as a solid object.

      • A faceted object is imported as an object with smooth faces through graphical enhancements and has restrictions on measuring or editing.

    • Apply CIM Coordinate :

      • If Geographic Coordinate is set, the option is enabled.

      • Import by adjusting the IFC object position to match the Geographic Coordinate of CIM.

    • Adjust distant objects (Ignore IFCSITE Data)

      • If Geographic Coordinate is not set, the option is enabled.

      • If the object is at a long distance, it is imported by adjusting it near the modeling origin.

      • In this process, the coordinate data in IFC is ignored.

Objects are created in the same position as the original coordinates of the Parasolid file. When the objects are not visible on the screen field of view, you can zoom to fit the model with the action below.

Click a wheel button on the mouse → Click the Home button of displayed UI
