Q. Layout is not created normally.

A. If alignment coordinate value outside of the coordinate creation range provided by CIM is input, the layout cannot be created.

The working space of CIM is limited to ±500KM in the direction of the coordinate axis relative to the origin.

Therefore, all model work in CIM must be carried out within a working space of 500KM.

Figure 1. CIM's workspace

If alignment coordinate value outside of the coordinate generation range provided by CIM is input, alignment generation is not possible.

The CIM workspace will be further explained through the process of creating the layout.

Figure 2. When the layout scope in Base mode is out of the workspace of CIM

Figure 2. Assuming that the CIM workspace is a rectangular line, the layout is created in the area that exceeds the coordinate range.

In the case of the following situation, the layout is not created with an error message ' [Error] Fail to create Layout Curve '.

In order to create the layout normally in CIM,

① Move the layout coordinates into the CIM workspace, or

② Match the CIM coordinate system with the actual coordinate system.

① How to move the layout coordinates into the CIM workspace

Origin Point was created outside the coordinate range between layout creation, or

If the X,Y coordinates on the layout are outside ±500KM from the origin, the layout will be out of the CIM workspace.

To move the layout coordinates into the CIM workspace

● Move the layout into the CIM coordinate space by modifying the Origin Point.

● Input Method of Layout Sub Panel - Modify X,Y coordinates of By X,Y

Layout can be created normally within the CIM workspace.

② How to match the CIM's coordinate system with the actual coordinate system

If the civil coordinate range of the structure in Base mode is out of the working space of CIM,

To create a layout in the CIM workspace, you must turn on the Geographic Coordinate button.

If you turn on the Geographic Coordinate button, the coordinates set in the Coordinate function are automatically updated.

If the Geographic Coordinate button is disabled, if you apply the Coordinate function in the main panel of Base Mode,

The Geographic Coordinate button is activated, allowing you to select On/Off.

▶ Coordinate function operation

Figure 8. Items activated when the Coordinate function is executed

Figure 9 shows the items activated when the Coordinate function is executed.

Point A is the origin coordinate , which can be arbitrarily designated by the user as the coordinates on the CIM.

Direction B is the true north direction, and the true north direction of the CIM model space can be entered in a vector form, and the default setting value is the Y-axis direction.

Point C is the point on the real coordinate system that you want to coincide with point A as the reference coordinate .

The operation process of the Coordinate function is as follows.

① Coordinate - Match the origin coordinate ( A ) set in Oringin Point with the reference coordinate ( C ).

② The true north direction ( B ) set in Northern Direction is rotated based on A so that it matches the north ( N ) direction on the actual coordinate system .

With the above process, the CIM coordinate system and the actual coordinate system are matched through the Coordinate function.

As mentioned above, when Geographic Coordinate is turned on in the process of creating/editing layout,

It's something that can automatically update a matched real-world coordinate system to create a layout.

If the Coordinate function is set, the structure in the CIM can be exported and placed in an external program such as Google Map, or

Models from external programs created based on real-world coordinate systems such as satellite terrain can be imported into the CIM workspace.
