Summary

  • Define the shape of the User Section.

How to Run

[User Section Mode]

  • Ribbon Menu > [User Section] Tab > [Shape] Group > Section

Explanation

Direct Draw Method

Create a User Section by drawing the shape manually.

  • [Table]
The list of registered sections is shown to change location and to delete.

  • [Method]
Select the method to define a section.

    • Direct Draw : Draw the shape of the User Section manually.

  • [Draw Section]
Use the Sketch tool to draw the shape of the User Section.

After defining the shape of the User Section, it must be regiestered to the table using the Add button.

  • [Auto Extension Ratio]

 Detailed Explanation (Auto Extension Ratio)
  • This is an option that allows the user to define a section even if each selected edge is separated by the entered ratio.

    • Example : 0.2 indicates 20% extension.

  • [Option]

    • Consider Inner Hole : Sets the application method when creating a region over another region.

    • Merge Colinear Edge : Sets whether multiple edges on the same straight line are merged into a single edge if multiple edges are created on the straight line.

Reference - Consider Inner Hole

 Detailed Explanation (Merge Colinear Edge)

When the edge creation process is stopped, as shown above, multiple edges are created on the same straigt line. In this case, set whether to merge the multiple edges into a single edge on the straight line.

  • Merge Colinear Edge On : As shown in the example above, the edges are merged into a triangle with three sides.

  • Merge Colinear Edge Off (Default) : As shown in the example above, a rectangle with four sides is created without merging the edges.

By Select Method

Select an existing line to create a User Section.

  • [Table]
The list of registered sections is shown to change location and to delete.

  • [Method]
Select the method to define a section.

    • By Select : Select the edge onto which to define the shape.

After defining the shape of the User Section, it must be regiestered to the table using the Add button.

  • [Option]

    • Consider Inner Hole : Sets the application method when creating a region over another region.

    • Merge Colinear Edge : Sets whether multiple edges on the same straight line are merged into a single edge if multiple edges are created on the straight line.

    • Remove Selected Edge : If set to On, the edges being used are deleted and the User Section is created.

Reference - Consider Inner Hole

 Detailed Explanation (Merge Colinear Edge)

When two lines on the same straight line are selected, as shown above, multiple edges are created on the same straigt line.

The By Select method can be used after importing CAD files through the File Menu - Import - DWG/DXF feature.

Insert Template Shape

Select and insert the template to create a User Section.

  • [Table]
The list of registered sections is shown to change location and to delete.

  • [Method]
Select the method to define a section.

    • Insert Template Shape : Define the User Section by defining the Template Shape.

  • [Template Shape]
A section can be created by entering the value into a template provided by CIM.

    • Preview : The shape is updated according to the entered value.

    • Guide : The guide image can be used to enter values.

    • Origin Point : Select which point in the section is entered.

    • Insert : Select the point in the workspace to enter.

After defining the shape of the User Section, it must be regiestered to the table using the Add button.

By Coordinates Method

Enter the coordinates of the vertices to create a User Section.

  • [Table]
The list of registered sections is shown to change location and to delete.

  • [Method]
Select the method to define a section.

    • By Coordinates : Enter point coordinates to define the User Section that connects those coordinates.

  • [Vertex Coordinate Table]
Enter the coordinates of the points to define in the shape.

  • [Coordinate]
Enter the vertex information to define the section.

 Coordinate Details
  • After entering (X, Y) points, press the Preview button to display the shapes of the connected section in the order of entry.

  • If you enter a R value in the Nth Vertex, enter R in the Edge between the Nth and N+1th points.
The figure below is an example of 1m input for the R value in Vertex Number 1.

The direction of the shape R is set to a default of counter clock-wise direction, and as shown below, if the CW checkbox is selected, the direction changes to clock-wise direction.

  • Column “L” indicates Loop.
If the Loop in Nth row is checked, a new Loop is created from that corresponding row.
If the Loop is check in N number of rows, then a total of N+1 Loops are created.

  • [Fillet/Chamfer]
Enter Fillet or Chamfer in Edge of Section.

 Fillet/Chamfer Details
  • Select Fillet or Chamfer from Type and enter a value to create a Fillet or a Chamfer.

After defining the shape of the User Section, it must be regiestered to the table using the Add button.
