This is the function to define a 2D cross section to be created as a drawing based on the CIM 3D model.
The cross section defined as By Plane can be drawn by linking the cross section information with MIDAS CAD INFRA-DESIGN (CAD ID).

By Plane entry route location
This is the process of creating a 2D view cross section using the CIM-By Plane function.
The By Plane function is provided in each Library Mode, including Base Mode.
Using this function, you can create a 2D cross-section that can be used as a drawing depending on the purpose from all models in the Library.
The explanation below explains the By Plane entry path in Base Mode and the By Plane entry path in Library Mode.

How to use By Plane (2D View).
This is the process of defining a cross section to be drawn with a CAD ID so that the cross section can be created using the By Plane function.

Image Added | [Reference] How to set up the Define Plane, the direction of the reference point (Z direction) where the cross section is created may be important depending on the target object to be drawn. A common method of using 3 Points is to set the View Box in the direction the user wants. 1 Point : This is the origin where the View Box will be located. 2 Point : This is the reference point that determines the X direction among the three axes of X, Y, and Z. 3 Point : It is the reference point that determines the Y direction among the three axes of X, Y, and Z. Therefore, the direction of the 1 Point reference point is determined in the Z direction.

The By Plane function in Library mode goes through the process of selecting a Constraint Point. In CIM, the Constraint Point serves as a constraint point when linking sections, and when creating a cross section linked to a higher mode, the constraint point can be remembered and the cross section can be created at the same location. Therefore, in Library mode, be sure to create a Constraint Point before setting the Drawing View. |

Image Added | View Depth When the Define Plane is applied, a View Box containing the cross-section information will appear. At this time, the visible range of the cross section, including the depth in front and behind the cross section, is defined. Objects included in the visible range are included in cross-section information and are used for drawing information in CAD ID. How to use The default setting for View Depth is set to 2.0m front and rear, and you can change the size of the View Box by dragging the arrow that appears in the View Box or entering a value directly.
|
Image Added | Cutting Area Like View Depth, when Define Plane is applied, a View Box containing cross-section information appears. It defines the visible range of the cross section, including the width and height of the cross section. Objects included in the visible range are included in cross-section information and are used for drawing information in CAD ID. How to use The width of the Cutting Area is set to 2.0m and the height is 5.0m by default. You can change the size of the View Box by dragging the arrow that appears in the View Box or directly entering a value.
|
Image Added | Option Clipping plane As a graphic effect, if the option based on the view box is activated, surrounding structures appear together. If you clear the option, only the View Box will be visible. Auto Dimmension [CAD ID] If you activate the option, this is a function that automatically creates structure dimensions when linking 2D View sections.
