  • File Menu > Import > Point Cloud

 

Explanation


Import Point Cloud Files

Import *.las, *.pts, *.txt files

  • [Search]
    Select the Point Cloud file to import. Once selected, the Phase below will be displayed.

  • LAS point cloud file (*.las)

  • PTS point cloud file (*.pts)

  • General text point cloud file (*.txt)

  • [Import File]
    Displays the file path.

    • Path Type: Sets the Path Type of the file.

      • Absolute: Indicates the absolute path where the graphic file is located.
        (The absolute path must match if the file is opened on a different computer.)

      • Relative: Indicates the relative path of the graphic file from the Cimz location.
        (The relative path must match if the file is opened on a different computer.)

  • [Reference Type]
    Determine how to save the file.

    • Import by Reference: The file loaded through a path, not saved to cimz.

    • Merge to file : The file is merged with the cimz and saved. The size of cimz will increase, but it will also appear on different computers.

    • Auto Load: If the file is opened when Auto Load is turned On, the graphic file is loaded automatically. File may take longer to open.
      Turn Auto Load OFF to minimize the file opening time, and load when desired through the “Reference” feature.

  • [Classification]
    Sets the file name.

  • [Description]
    Enter the file description.

  • [Origin Point]
    Select the origin to insert the file.

  • [Target Point]
    Insert the file at the Target Point.

  • [Rotation Axis]
    Select the direction of the rotation axis to rotate the file.

  • [Rotation Angle]
    Rotate the file according to the entered rotation angle value.

  • [Scale Factor]
    Zoom in/out according to the entered scale factor value.
