Loft(Edge)

Summary

This function creates a 2D Surface by connecting the start profile and the end profile with a custom path.

How to Run

  • Ribbon Menu > [Feature] Tab > [Generate] Group > Loft > Face

Explanation

Create Parent Shape

Select Start Profile and End Profile to create a top surface that connects the two profiles.

  • [Select Profile]
Select Start Profile and End Profile individually.

  • [Select Path]
Select the path from the start profile to the end profile.

If Path is not selected, create a 2D Surface that connects the two profiles to the shortest distance.

  • Path not selected

  • Path selected

  • [Shape Variation]
Sets the curve that connects the start profile and the end profile.

    • Variation Origin : Sets the reference position of the shape change.

    • Path-Y / Path-Z : When the direction of the soft progression is X, it means the variation in the Y and Z directions.

    • Variation Type : Sets the type of connection curve.

      • Linear : Straight line

      • Parabolic : A quadratic curve

      • Cubic : A cubic curve

      • Polynomial : Directly enter the order of the connection curve

      • Arc : Curve

        • Convexity : Sets the shape of the connection curve.

          • OFF : Applies a short distance point from the Variation Origin as the start point (tangent) to the connection curve. This leads to a concave curve.

          • ON : Applies a point that is far from the Variation Origin as the start point (tangent) to the connection curve. This leads to a convex curve.

        • Order : Enter the order of the curve. (if Variation Type is Polynomial)

        • Radius : Enter the radius of the arc. (if Variation Type is Arc)

  • Linear

  • Parabolic - Convexity OFF

  • Parabolic - Convexity ON

  • Cubic

  • Polynomial - Order : 6

  • Arc - Radius : 60

  • [Loft Type]
Add options for Loft shape details.

    • Keep Profile Orientation : Maintain the direction of the target regardless of the direction of the path.

    • Keep Bulge Factor(Curve) : Maintain protrusion proportions as the object changes shape. (When Variation Type is Arc.)

  • Keep Profile Orientation On

  • Keep Profile Orientation Off
