FAQ

Q. If Longitudinal Rebars are Arrayed, rebars are Arrayed differently than intended.

A. Depending on the Spacing type of Longitudinal Rebar and Longitudinal Rebar Option setting, various arrangement rules can be defined.

Through the Longitudinal Rebar function, you can easily create longitudinal rebars that are arranged depending on the Transverse Rebar.

To help you understand the content Rebar Array Group Creation Rule according to Transverse Rebar Draw Point It is recommended to view the document together. [1]

LThe creation of a Longitudinal Rebar is the opposite of a Transverse Rebar.

In the transverse rebar, one rebar is drawn on the plane and then arranged along the path to create an Array group, whereas

For Longitudinal Rebar, Array Group is created by first arranging point bars by adjusting the spacing on the plane, and then creating rebars connecting the points drawn on each transverse rebar according to the spacing type

There are two Array options of Longitudinal Rebar.[2]

For Longitudinal Rebar, the result of Array varies according to the Spacing type, and the contents are as shown in the example below.

Array result of the model arranged as shown in the figure is as follows.

Spacing type : Spacing (Adjustable, Limit Max., Pattern) - 0.2m

Draw reinforcing bars by connecting the points that are created one every 0.2m between the 2Point areas of each Transverse Rebar.

(Due to the extension of the transverse rebar, 0.2m interval of Longitudinal Rebar is added one by one.)

The shape may vary depending on the setting value.

Spacing type : By Number - 10

Draw reinforcing bars by connecting each Transverse Rebar to 10 equal points.

Spacing type : User Defined - 9@0.2

Rebar is drawn by connecting 9 points created at intervals of 0.2m from the first point of each transverse rebar.

(Only as many reinforcing bars as the entered number are created at the entered interval.)

Array option of Longitudinal Rebar

  1. Follow Path - Created by sweeping the Longitudinal Rebar placed on the Start Plane along the Array Path as it is.

  2. Follow Transverse - Referring to the first drawn 2 Points, the points that move according to the shape change of the Transverse Rebar are created in succession as a spline.

The Follow Path method is highly intuitive and can be easily recognized by users, but the Follow Transverse method changes the shape of the array depending on the point used for the first time.

The operation should proceed through the initial setup based on the correct understanding[2]

Role of 2Point in Follow Transverse

  • First point - Path of Longitudinal Rebar, starting point of Rebar Spacing

  • Second point - End point of Rebar Spacing

Here, it is important because, according to the area of rebar spacing, the area to which rebars will be added during pattern spacing and the range to which each rebar will extend when by number are determined.

In case of Array of the arranged Longitudinal Rebar, the same rule as the principle that the Array follows the Ratio on the Edge in the Transverse Rebar is applied to determine the shape.

This is because when the Transverse Rebar is viewed as one edge, there are 2 Points on it.

Let's take a look at the Array example below.

Case 1. Follow Transverse after sequential arrangement without considering Rebar Shape (2Point)

Figure. 1 Longitudinal Rebar drawn in the direction of the user's work

Figure. 2 Array result with Follow Transverse Option selected

Figure.1 shows the arrangement of reinforcing bars according to the diameter change while taking the correct position from top to bottom with 2 points.

It would be similar to CAD's reinforcement work, but in CIM, 2Point is the information base of reinforcing bars, so it is not an appropriate method to implement a 3D model.

You can see that the 2Point moves along the ratio of the shape of the transverse rebar and becomes a reinforcement.

Case 2. Select appropriate 2Point and Array option

Figure. 3 Longitudinal Rebar drawn by selecting the First Point as the center of the Transverse Rebar

Figure. 4 GArray result selected as Follow Path only for Group B reinforcing bars

Figure. Looking at 3, you can see that the First Point of all Longitudinal Rebar 2Points is the same as the center point.

This is to make the path of the Longitudinal Rebar to be created when the Array option is set to Follow Transverse as a straight line connecting the center.

In this way, if you fully understand the information rules that determine the shape of the Longitudinal Rebar and then proceed with the work, you will be able to model the rebar corresponding to the shape you want in various cases.
