Analysis Case(Define)

Summary

  • Defines the Analysis case.

How to Run

[Analysis Mode]

  • Ribbon Menu > [Analysis] Tab > [Analysis Case] Group > Define

Explanation

Create General Analysis Model

Defines the analysis model to perform analyses in conjunction with midas Civil.

Define Tab

Select General Analysis.

  • [Classification]

    • Name : Set the name of the analysis.

  • [Select Target]

    • 1D Element : Select the 1D member objects to include in the analysis model.

    • 2D Element : Select the 2D member objects to include in the analysis model.

    • Link : Select the link elements to include in the analysis model.

  • [1D Element Setting]

    • Mesh Size : Enter the size of 1D elements or the number of elements to divide a member into several elements for analysis.

    • Section

      • Center Location : Sets the method of searching the center of section.

        • Bounding Box Center : Uses the center of the bounding box that passes through the outermost side of the section.

        • Centroid : Uses the centroid of the section.

  • [2D Element Setting]

    • Mesh Size : Enter the size of 2D elements or the number of elements to divide a member into several elements for analysis.

    • Thickness : Sets the thickness of the 2D Mesh.

      • Maximum : Applies the largest thickness value.

      • Minimum : Applies the smallest thickness value.

      • Average : Applies the average thickness value.

  • [Load]

    • Export Self Weight : Uses the anlaysis information from midas Civil.

    • If turned On, a vector input box appears. (Global X, Y, Z)

In the midas CIM modeling process, it is necessary to separate the created objects as structural members and as nonstructural members. For this, the Structural Member / Nonstructural Member option can be used.

  • Structural Member : When defining the anlaysis case for structural anlaysis, 1D or 2D elements can be selected for export.

  • Nonstructural Member : When defining the analysis case for structural analysis, objects cannot be selected or exported.

Create Unit Length Analysis Model

Defines the analysis model to perform unit length analysis in conjunction with midas Civil.

Define Tab

Select 2D Analysis.

  • [Classification]

    • Name : Set the name of the analysis.

  • [Select Target]

    • 1D Element : Select the 1D member with the profile.

    • Profile : Select the profile that is applied to the 1D member to define the unit length anlaysis case.

      • Section Offset from Left-Bottom : Changes the object’s cardinal point properties to LeftBottom. The analysis model is created by automatically entering the offset value to maintain the relative position of the section and the member geometry.

  • [Load]

    • Export Self Weight : Uses the anlaysis information from midas Civil.

    • If turned On, a vector input box appears. (Global X, Y, Z)

Select the Construction Stage set created using the construction stage define feature.

  • [1D Element Setting]

    • Mesh Size : Enter the size of 1D elements or the number of elements to divide a member into several elements for analysis

    • Section : Sets the method of searching the center of section.

      • Bounding Box Center : The center of the bounding box that passes through the outermost side of the section.

      • Centroid : Centroid of the section.

  • [Load]

    • Export Self Weight : Uses the anlaysis information from midas Civil.

    • If turned On, a vector input box appears. (Global X, Y, Z)
