Q.

...

Can 2D dwg information in CIM be used in modeling?

A.

...

Using the DWG / DXF Import

...

feature, the DWG file can be used in various modeling spaces such as Base Mode, User Section Mode

...

and Draw Rebar Mode

...

.

You can utilize DWG files in a variety of modeling spaces.

Info

DWG / DXF Import

  • The DWG / DXF Import function feature can be utilized used in various modeling spaces.

  • In Base Mode (including Library Base Tab of Library), it is possible to model various shapes such as Edge, Face, Solid, etc. can be modeled using the DWG/DXF Import functionfeature, but the
created generated Solid model is not linked with to analysis as a Body Type. (Figure 1)

  • You can use the The DWG/DXF Import function import feature can be used to create sections in User Section Mode to create a section. (Figure 2)

  • In Draw Rebar Mode, reinforcing bar rebar properties can be assigned by importing reinforcement drawings prepared created in CadCAD. (Figure Figures 3 & 4)

Base Mode : File > Import > DWG/DXF

Figure. 1 Import DWG/DXF

  • Defines the work working plane of the global coordinate system Global Coordinate System (GCS) for objects imported from DWG and , DXF files.

  • Red (X-axis direction), Green (Y-axis direction), Blue (Z-axis direction)

  • However, a model using an object models using objects that are imported from DWG and , DXF files in Base mode is are created as a body type solid element, not a member elementSolid elements of the Body Type and not Member elements.

  • The reason that it is objects are created as a solid element is because it is not possible to define section properties for geometrySolid elements because the section properties of the shape cannot be defined.

Info

What is User Section?(Figure 2)

  • User Section: It The User Section is used to create an object objects by defining the section information as a single one separate piece of information.

  • After defining the first properties in the user sectionProperties within the User Section, import the DWG/DXF file to define the section geometry to model.

  • Similar to the SPC feature in midas Civil, cross-sectional shape to be modeled.Section properties can be defined like the SPC function of midas Civil, and the defined shape and section cross-sectional properties can be analyzed interpreted and interlocked linked with midas Civil.

Figure. 2 Import DWG/DXF in User Section Mode

  • Objects Defines objects imported from DWG and , DXF files are defined in the XY X-Y plane of the global coordinate system Global Coordinate System (GCS).

  • Red (X-axis direction), Green (Y-axis direction)

Info

What is Draw Rebar Mode?(Figure 3 & 4)

  • Draw Rebar Mode : Enter the Rebar Draw Mode mode to draw construct a rebar on in a plane.

  • By importing The user can import DWG/DXF files , you can to import the lines to reference between rebar creationsuse as references when creating rebars.

Draw Rebar Mode : File > Import > DWG/DXF

Figure. 3 Enter Draw Rebar Mode

...

  • In Draw Rebar Mode, the user can directly manually select the edge edges or vertex vertices to place the rebarrebars.

Figure. 4 Rebar reinforcement Reinforcement using DWG/DXF Import in Rebar Mode.

  • With Using the DWG / DXF Import function, you can select and place rebar layers drawn in CADfeature, the rebar layer in CAD can be reinforced.
